Need to get away? You might enjoy Junctions casual and friendly small town atmosphere. Stretch your budget and take advantage of very affordable lodging at this friendly little mom and pop motel. Bikers that cruise through Kimble County and the Texas Hill Country discover us, and continue to refer Legends Inn to their friends.

Most riders prefer to avoid some of the busy and expensive tourist areas, and want a slower pace in the evenings. Fewer people. Peace and quiet. Your own little groups gathered around. Most groups that visit throughout the year are less than ten riders.
There are more than enough lawn chairs for everyone to gather around.
Whether you cook out, eat out, or bring back some pie, you can gather around your rooms or take advantage of a little more shaded space. Most of you want to just hang out and drink. Or spread the stories!

We all invite you to explore our area, ride the favorite routes, enjoy the views, make a few loops, see the attractions, visit favorite hangouts, and return to our home in Junction for a relaxing evening.
Then you can enjoy a quiet, comfortable nights sleep. Legends Inn has 27 rooms for you to choose from.
And, in case they forget to tell you in person, there are rags in each of the rooms for you to clean your bikes and gear with. If you need more during your stay, just ask. Ruining the good towels is never a good idea! Didn't your momma tell you that?
One more thing to remember, after your visit to the Hill Country, we invite you to share photos from your trip, or other links, so they can share them with everyone else. Just send them in an email to Denise.

Motorcycle Rallies & Rides

Some of our newest friends are from the Houston and surrounding areas, unofficially named "The Texas Road Eyes".
Those that don't work for Centerpoint Energy, work for the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. And, one US Postal worker (but they try to keep that a secret).

The Texas Road Eyes visited the Alamo on their tour of the Texas Hill Country, April 2008.
We're thrilled that they chose Junction to be their hub, and look forward to seeing them every year at Legends Inn!
Geezers & Scalawags Hill Country Tour
There's fun to be had by all when the Geezers & Scalawags visit the hotels and motels in Junction, Texas. The Geezers & Scalawags Hill Country Tour has been held in Junction for eleven years. Most of them travel from the Lubbock area.
Thousands of bikers pass through the Texas Hill Country each year, but these guys and gals are sill our favorite rally group - usually less than 100 riders. As with most bikers, most of them are professionals or business owners, or just lazy and retired. (Just kidding Johnny!)
They all look forward to enjoying the freedom of the Hill Country roads, and the small-town welcome that Kevin, Denise, and all the staff offers them.
Johnnie - the Boss!

We always share a meal on Saturday night.

Want some brisket or potato salad?
Kevin is full of beans.

Who is cooking tonight? The grills not smokin!
At least everyone has a shelter this year! Hope for rain!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just hanging out.
Have you met Ginger? This dog also hangs out - waiting for handouts.
Stuffin faces is a favorite past-time.

And, she has been at the BBQ pit again!
We prefer that you ask us before feeding her.
She may have already been fed four or five times. What a life!!!
If you would like to add Junction to your groups itinerary, we would love to have you. Before you set the date to visit, you might want to call and check availability. Some weeks are better than others, and you can plan accordingly. Just give us a call during office hours: 8am - 10pm. Ask for Kevin or Denise. Thanks!

Junction has plenty of the standard amenities as far as food and gas go,
but nothing in the way of specialty bike shops at this time.
So...... you might want to bring your own spare tire.

Ginger has her own spare tire.
If you choose to make Junction your hub for some day trips and haven't had the pleasure of touring the Hill Country, you may want to try the following route.
Other riders say it is spectacular! The diversity of the terrain can not be found elsewhere. Trans Pecos terrain to the West; S. Texas terrain to the South; and Hill Country terrain to the East.
The spring-fed, crystal clear water of the Nueces River flows through the limestone bluffs of the Edwards Plateau to create a shining example of one of the most scenic river trips in Texas. You might want to canoe this section some day, so you can see all of it. For now, make sure you have plenty of storage space on your camera before you head out on the bike. And fill up before you leave Junction.
Be careful - twisty roads, lots of hills, and some hairpin turns. The estimated four hours for the ride includes stopping to take photos, etc. Add some more time to get rid of helmet goo, and you can also eat lunch in Campwood. Other bikers recommend 55 Diner (hamburgers) or the Casa Falcon (Mexican food).
From Junction, take 377 South to 41 and head east. Make a right on 335 and head south. This is where the scenery is so incredible. When you get to Barksdale, take 55 over to Camp Wood. This is a good place to stop and have some lunch. Then, get back on 55 going west to Rocksprings and connect back up with 377. Head north to get back to Junction.
You can extend the ride by adding another loop: When you get to 41 from 335, take a right instead. Head over to 336, take another right heading south down to Leakey. Take 337 heading west, back to Campwood. Then it's back to 55 and 83. You'll to see the Frio River Canyon by adding this 336 loop. It's not as spectacular as the Nuesis, but it's still a beautiful ride. It will probably add at least another hour or so onto the ride.
Happy Trails!!!

Joe Parker - Geezer and Scalaway Rally April 2008
We sincerely appreciate all those bikers and friends out there who have included us in their lives. And all those who helped get the word out about this little spot in the Country! Not only did you make a difference in Joe's life, you are our friends.
Some of you plan ahead, and share your ideas and opportunities. The 2008 ads in Ride Texas were very effective. And the website exposure continues to grow. Thank you for your suggestions!
We are doing something different this year and asking you to participate:
By linking thelegendsinn.com to your websites and blogs, you can help others discover our great (but kinda secret) hub location in the Texas Hill Country. Thanks again! - Kevin, Denise, and staff.

If you have any suggestions for links or information that would help other bikers cruising the Texas Hill Country, please contact us.
THANKS!
